FIRE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

JUNE 13, 2005

 

 

The meeting was called to order at 6:10 p.m. by Chairman Terry Scott.

 

In attendance of the meeting were:

 

Terry Scott- Chairman

Jack Long- Alderman

Janice Stagner- Committee Member

Kaul Wilson- Committee Member

Robert Dale Anderson- Committee Member

Danny Crosby- Mayor

 

The committee discusses the Fire Contract that they were presented by the Pleasant View Fire Department at the last month’s meeting held at the Fire Hall. The committee discussed negotiations that should be made with the fire department regarding the contract they have presented.

 

The committee decides on the following negotiations:

 

1.      Offer 52,500.00 for 2 years.

2.      Discuss Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department covering the maintenance on the trucks that Coopertown provides.

3.      Fire Department to furnish full coverage insurance on all trucks.

4.      Negotiate taking out Clause 5 out of contract which states that “In the event that the contractual relationship between the town and the fire department is terminated for any reason, the town shall purchase, at fair market value, any real estate and buildings that the fire department may own within the town limits. In addition, the town shall assume any remaining lease and/or other arrangement to hold real property or buildings that may belong to the fire department within the town limits.”  

5.      If the above negotiation will not stand, then add this to Clause 5. “Fair Market value of $380,000 as of 2003, will be paid for the building upon any dissolution of contract within Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department and Town of Coopertown.

 

The above negotiations is what will be presented to the Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department at the next meeting.
