Zoning & Subdivision Regulations
The Planning Commission & Board of Zoning Appeals
The Planning Commission is comprised of citizens who have volunteered to accept responsibility for creating the zoning ordinances that will ensure the prosperous and controlled growth of Coopertown. It is through the Coopertown Zoning Ordinances and only through these ordinances that the citizens were able to successfully block the opening of a landfill on Highway 49.
Click here for more information in the fight to block its establishment.
The Planning Commission meets regularly on the first Wednesday of each month at 3:00 p.m. as well as the third Monday of each month at 6:00 pm at City Hall. Please see the "Calendar of Events" on this website for actual monthly meeting dates/times, as they may change due to holidays or inclement weather.
All meetings are open to the public. Interest, opinions and concerns are solicited and accepted from all citizens. Residents are encouraged to attend and communicate with the Commission members to provide valuable input into the Town's vision for growth and development.
The Board of Zoning Appeals meets on an as-needed basis - please see the "Calendar of Events" on this website for scheduled meetings of the BZA. This board is responsible for approving all exceptions to Coopertown Zoning Ordinances.
