Zoning & Subdivision Regulations

The Planning Commission & Board of Zoning Appeals

The Planning Commission is comprised of citizens who have volunteered to accept responsibility for creating the zoning ordinances that will ensure the prosperous and controlled growth of Coopertown. It is through the Coopertown Zoning Ordinances and only through these ordinances that the citizens were able to successfully block the opening of a landfill on Highway 49.

The Planning Commission meets regularly on the third Tuesday of each month at 7pm at City Hall. All meetings are open to the public. Interest, opinions and concerns are solicited and accepted from all citizens. Residents are encouraged to attend and communicate with the Commission members to provide valuable input into the vision of the Town to be.

The Board of Zoning Appeals meets on an as needed basis on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm at City Hall. The BZA is responsible for approving all exceptions to the Coopertown Zoning ordinances.
